May 8 - Earth Day, Falls of the Ohio State Park, Clarksville- 10a.m.-4p.m. 201 W. Riverside Dr. (812) 280-9970. fallsoftheohio.org The Falls of the Ohio State Park will buzz with activity. Environmentally minded businesses and organizations from all over the region gather to share information, show off their accomplishments and provide fun for the whole family. Special programs include live animals. Sponsored by Jamey Aebersold Jazz, Kentuckiana Air Education, The Trash Force, and The Falls of the Ohio Foundation.

May 9 - Charlestown State Park hosts "Wildflower Hikes" led by naturalist Richard Lyons, Highway 62, Charlestown; Meet in the Trail 4 parking lot at 1:00 p.m.; Trail 4 is a rugged 2.9 miles that makes a loop down to Fourteen Mile Creek and back - view Goldenseal (Hydrastis Canadenis), Baneberry (Actaea pachypoda), and Black Cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa); Fees are $5 per car for Indiana residents, $7 per car for out-of-state residents, or free for entrance permit holders - children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, schedule is subject to change without notice; 812-256-5600 Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

June 5th - The Sunnyside Master Gardener's Herb & Garden Festival
Sunnyside Master Gardener's "Home Grown" festival with special Guest Presentations by Bob Hill of Hidden Hill Nursery, Tracey Williams of Greensleaves Designs and Janet Steffens CFS Educator for Floyd County discusses canning and freezing. Booths with local and regional vendors will be selling herbs, perennials and native plants. Event is held at the Clark County 4-H Fairgrounds (rain or shine) and begins at 9am. June 19 - Ohio River Sweep - Falls of the Ohio, Clarksville - The Park coordinates the Clark County effort as part of a multi-state program, which provides free tee shirts for all participants. October - Lewis and Clark Falls of the Ohio Festival, Clark Homesite, Harrison Avenue, Clarksville; An early 1800's reenactment at the George Rogers Clark Home Site of the Falls of the Ohio State Park on Harrison Avenue commemorating George Rogers Clark's life.
